NCGTA News & Events

Our Recreational gymnasts can take part in our in-house competitions and perform a display to parents once a year. Our Squad gymnasts compete at local, county and regional levels in various floor and vault competitions throughout the year.

We also have fun events for all of our Gymnasts throughout the year, including NCGTA Parties, with exclusive use of Cotswold Clubhouse.

DAVE POWELL CUP – COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIPS

Sunday 15th May 2022

Twenty-seven NCGTA gymnasts competed at the Dave Powell Cup Gloucestershire Championships in the Forest of Dean last Sunday. With 16 top 6 finishes, SIX NEW COUNTY CHAMPIONS, and NCGTA came THIRD OVERALL IN THE COUNTY!

The Academy are so proud of all the girls, who performed their routines to such a high standard and represented the club so beautifully.

Emily – placed 2nd on vaultCOUNTY FLOOR CHAMPION! And 2016 BORN COUNTY CHAMPION!

Tara – COUNTY VAULT CHAMPION 2nd place on floor to finish as the 2010 COUNTY CHAMPION!

Issy – placed 2nd on floor and vault to become 2009 COUNTY CHAMPION!

Sadie – COUNTY FLOOR CHAMPION! to finish 2nd overall

Chloe – COUNTY FLOOR CHAMPION! To take 2nd place overall

Georgia – COUNTY VAULT CHAMPION

Miller – placed 2nd on vault and floor to finish 2nd overall

Eva – placed 2nd on floor to finish 3rd overall

Hope – placed 2nd floor and 3rd overall

Ava- placed 3rd on vault2nd on floor and 3rd overall

Ivy – 3rd place finish overall

Amelia – placed 2nd on vault to finish 6th overall

Sophie – placed 3rd on vault for a 5th place finish overall

Freya – placed 4th overall

Maddie – placed 4th overall

We have decided that it would be great for you to get to know all of our Coaches at NCGTA a little better. Great for the gymnasts already with us; but also reassuring for people considering joining their children up, so you can understand the NCGTA family a little more.

What are your qualifications?
Level 1 Women’s Artistic

What is your favourite skill to coach?
Any tumbling on the floor!

Were you ever a gymnast? And what level did you compete?
I remained a recreational gymnast and loved it!

What are your interests outside of the gym?
I love spending time with my family, enjoy doing art, and anything creative.

Favourite Food?
Chocolate!

Favourite Film?
The Hunger Games films.

If you could have a super power, what would it be?
To be able to teleport!

What is your proudest achievement as a coach?
Getting our Activity Camps and Summer Gymnastics classes up and running again after lock down. They were a great success and made me feel really proud.

What is your favourite skill to coach?
Connections on Beam, getting stuck in and supporting tumbling. All the big fun skills, when I’m learning and the gymnast is learning. Hopefully able to do that again soon!

Were you ever a gymnast? And what level did you compete?
Yes. I was East Area Floor Champion in 2009. East Area Team Tumbling Champion in 2009.

What are your interests outside of the gym?
I don’t have a life outside of gym! I like to go out to eat and spend time with my partner.

Favourite Food?
Cheeseburgers!

Favourite Film?
Any Harry Potter film.

If you could have a super power, what would it be?
Shape-shifter

What is your proudest achievement as a coach?
Getting my first Distinctions at grades in 2020. Getting 4th, 6th overall in a Southwest Competition at Club level and 8th overall in a Southwest Competition at National Level. I’m proud of being Head Coach at NCGTA!

It was great having all the Squads together and getting some lovely photos. Such a team of hard working, committed and focused individuals. So proud of what you have achieved so far and continue to achieve.
